Finsia Philanthropy and Networking Event – Wed Dec 8th

Please find attached a Flyer for an upcoming networking event organised by Finsia – the Financial Services Institute of Australia.

Finsia’s Young Finance Professionals committee invites you to do a good deed, network with other young professionals and help give back to the community. Women in Project Management

Resourceful Women

Dear Women in Mining,

Resourceful Women
With the ever-growing focus on the mining and resources industry in this State, LunchBox List, Perth’s premier network for business and career women, will present three outstanding women who will share how they push the boundaries and have created booming careers in mining, geology and engineering. A real showcase of the opportunities for women in this diverse sector with three inspiring stories we are sure you will want to hear! Women in Mining are supporting this event and we encourage you to get a group together from work, enjoy a gourmet lunchbox, networking and hear from:

- Argyle Diamond Mines General Manager Production, Maryanne Kelly. From a single mother earning a living as a barmaid, to now General Manager Production at Rio Tinto – owned Argyle Diamond Mines and a multi-award winning business woman. With previous roles in both corporate and remote Australia, Maryanne is responsible for 400 employees and ensuring equal opportunity for indigenous employment.

- SRK Consulting Principal Consultant Geology, Deborah Lord. An advocate for part-time working arrangements, Deb Lord is a shining example of how a professional can balance her own career development while juggling family commitments.

- Dean of School of Engineering and Energy at Murdoch University, Professor Parisa Bahri. Completing her Bachelor and Masters degrees in Iran, Parisa furthered her studies in Australia with a PhD making her one qualified woman! Joining Murdoch University, Parisa’s career journey has seen her move from Lecturer to Professor in less than ten years.
